On June 13, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province said that the unit had just supervised the implementation of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the period 2024 - 2025.
This program was launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, with the goal of completing the elimination of all temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households by October 31, 2025.
In Lam Dong province, Mr. Pham Trieu - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee said that the province set a target of completing the program 4 months earlier than the national general plan, i.e. before June 30, 2025.
According to the plan, Lam Dong will support the removal of 1,504 temporary and dilapidated houses in the period of 2024 - 2025, with a support level of 60 million VND/newly built house and 30 million VND/repaired house.
The implementation budget is taken from the 5% savings of regular expenditures in 2024 of the provincial and district levels.
As of June 10, the whole province has completed 1,431 units, reaching over 95% of the plan. Of which, 1,140 houses were newly built and 331 houses were repaired.
"Currently, 6 out of 10 districts and cities in the province have completed support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households," Mr. Pham Trieu informed.

In particular, the units also mobilized the community to join hands to contribute materials and labor to build houses for poor and near-poor households.
Thanks to the synchronous participation, the completed houses all ensure the area and quality according to the technical standards issued by the Ministry of Construction.
In addition to houses supported by the State budget, Lam Dong province also mobilized additional social resources to eliminate 342 more temporary and dilapidated houses for people.
As of June 10, the whole province has completed 1,773 houses for poor and near-poor households. It is expected that by the end of June 2025, Lam Dong will complete the entire program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses according to the set plan, Mr. Pham Trieu affirmed.
