Faced with the complicated developments of prolonged heavy rain in Da Nang city, on the morning of October 28, Colonel Luong Dinh Chung - Political Commissar of Military Region 5 directly inspected a number of deeply flooded areas, grasped the actual situation and directed forces to deploy response measures and overcome the consequences of floods.
According to the report of the KV1 - Cam Le Area Defense Command (Da Nang Military Command), the entire area currently has 31 local flooding points, concentrated in Lien Chieu, Hoa Xuan, Hai Van, Ngu Hanh Son wards, Ba Na commune and Hoa Tien commune; water levels in many places are 30 to 40cm deep.
In particular, in Hoa Tien commune, nearly 2,600 houses were flooded in 18/22 villages (except for Duong Son, Yen Ne 1 and Thon 5 villages). Many inter-village traffic routes were deeply flooded, some places over 1m, causing local isolation. Unfortunately, in An Trach village, there was a death due to drowning; the authorities found and handed over the body to the family.

In that situation, the Defense Command of Region 1 - Cam Le coordinated with Regiment 971, the regular militia and units stationed in the area to mobilize more than 250 officers and soldiers, along with 4 cars, 2 canoes, 2 motorboats to help the people. The forces have supported nearly 200 households in Tay An, Qua Giang 1, Giang Nam 1 and Giang Nam 2 residential groups (Hoa Xuan ward) to move their assets to higher ground, transport food to isolated people and bring people out of flooded areas to safety.
Directly inspecting the scene, Colonel Luong Dinh Chung requested the Da Nang Military Command and units to strictly maintain the on-duty and command regimes, prepare forces and means to promptly respond to all developments of floods, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
Currently, the Da Nang Military Command is continuing to closely coordinate with local authorities, police and militia forces to organize checkpoints, put up warning ropes, ensure security and traffic safety, and at the same time prepare rescue forces and means, evacuate people to safe places, do not be passive or surprised in any situation.
