On the afternoon of November 4, information from Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 said that up to now, more than 300 fishing vessels with over 3,000 fishermen have been instructed to take shelter from storm Kalmaegi (storm No. 13), in Truong Sa Special Zone.

In Song Tu Tay, Sinh Ton, Truong Sa, Da Tay islands... there are fishing ports, soldiers and people from the islands have supported over 20,000 liters of fresh water, many essential necessities and arranged temporary accommodation on the island for fishermen.
To ensure absolute safety for people, vehicles and weapons equipped against storm No. 13, units stationed on the islands have urgently reviewed and reinforced natural disaster prevention and control works.
Prepare adequate reserves of materials, food, provisions, fresh water and prepare safe shelters for fishermen. Arrange forces to be on duty 24/7 to support and guide ships to anchor safely when the weather turns bad.
On the islands, officers, soldiers and forces are closely coordinating with the people, reinforcing houses, tying up vehicles, moving people and property to safety.
Units strictly maintain on-duty regime, regularly update and issue notices on weather and storm conditions. Rescue forces and vehicles are always ready to mobilize when there are emergency situations, not to be passive or surprised.
At the same time, it will strengthen support for fishermen by providing food, fresh water, and health care, ensuring a stable life in conditions where the storm may last.
The unit also coordinated with the Border Guards on the islands to agree on a response plan, promptly calling on ships to take shelter safely.
