More than 60 bus workers work together to revive vehicles for people in the flooded areas of Lang Son

Lang Son - More than 500 damaged motorbikes in the flooded area of Van Nham have been repaired for free.

After the circulation of storm No. 11 caused serious flooding in many localities of Lang Son province, hundreds of people's motorbikes were soaked in water, severely damaged, and could not be used.

In that situation, a group of motorbike technicians led by Mr. Hoang Viet Cao - Head of Lang Son Motorcycle Technical Association - proactively organized a free motorbike repair program for people in flooded areas.

According to Mr. Cao, the program was implemented in Van Nham commune, one of the localities that suffered the most damage after the recent flood.

"We have rescued vehicles in many different provinces and cities. This time, seeing my hometown flooded without standing outside is not necessary. The brothers in the association have called together to ask BRT Vietnam Company (HCMC) to sponsor about 50 million VND to buy replacement parts such as air conditioners, engine oil, motorbikes, etc., Mr. Cao shared with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter.

Not only that, many motorbike dealers in Lang Son and Bac Giang also joined hands to support more spare parts, bringing the total support value to nearly 100 million VND.

To promptly help people, the group mobilized about 60 skilled workers from Lang Son, Bac Giang, Hung Yen and Hanoi.

"Never before have we edited so much. At first, we only located one location at the old Minh Tien Commune Primary and Secondary School. After that, due to the large demand of the people, the commune government proposed to open another location in the old Nhat Tien commune. Workers have to work continuously from morning to night, said Mr. Cao.

Because most of the vehicles are soaked in water for a long time, the repair is mainly temporary, helping the vehicle to start the engine and move, but cannot be completely maintained.

"We have changed the oil, pillowcase, distillate, wash, filter... just hoping that people have a means of transportation and soon stabilize their lives after the flood," he added.

It is worth mentioning that when learning about the program, many car repairmen in the area also volunteered to participate, joining hands to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Hung, Secretary of the Van Nham Commune Party Committee, shared: After the recent flood, people's motorbikes in the area were almost completely damaged. This program is really meaningful, because if people let it be repaired themselves, it will be very expensive.

When asked about the upcoming plan, Mr. Hoang Viet Cao confided: "All of us want to continue to other communes such as Yen Binh, Huu Lung... but the budget and spare parts are really running out. If there is more funding, just a call and we are ready to go immediately.
