On October 1, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued a document requesting to promote solutions to manage bird farming activities.
In particular, localities must increase propaganda and dissemination of the 2018 Law on Livestock and Decrees 13/2020, 14/2021 of the Government on administrative sanctions in the field of livestock.
According to statistics, the whole province currently has 1,425 bird houses in 61 communes and wards. Of which, Khanh Hoa area (old) has 831 houses, Ninh Thuan (old) has 594 houses. Notably, there are up to 907 bird houses (accounting for 63%) in areas where livestock farming is not allowed.
According to current regulations, the bird farming area is decided by the provincial People's Committee and submitted to the Provincial People's Council. The planning of breeding areas must be consistent with the behavior of bird watching, local socio-economic conditions and not affect the lives of residents.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the output of exploited bird's nest reached 11,190kg, an average increase of 1.56% over the same period in 2024.
Previously, in 2020, the People's Council of Khanh Hoa province (old) issued Resolution No. 17/2020 stipulating that inner-city areas of cities, towns, towns and residential areas are not allowed for cattle breeding; bird breeding areas in the area.
Accordingly, areas where livestock farming is not allowed are wards of Nha Trang city, Cam Ranh, Ninh Hoa town; Van Gia town (Van Ninh district), Dien Khanh (Dien Khanh district) and Cam Duc (Cam Lam district).
Residential areas located in the central planning area of communes in the province; central planning areas of Khanh Vinh town (Khanh Vinh district) and To hap town (Khanh Son district); inappropriate planning areas are livestock land approved by competent authorities.
The bird farming area is an area outside the area where livestock farming is not allowed as prescribed in Clause 1, Clause 2, Article 2 of the Resolution.
In case the bird sanctuary has been operating before the effective date of the Resolution (January 1, 2021) and is located in an area where livestock farming is not allowed, it can continue to operate.
However, the above winches must maintain the status quo, not be expanded; not use loudspeakers for soundcasting, and must meet other regulations in Clause 2, Article 25 of Decree No. 13/2020/ND-CP dated January 21, 2020 of the Government. And comply with State regulations on management of bird farming.
