On September 24, the Standing Committee of the Hue City Party Committee held a press conference to inform about preparations for the 17th City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
The festival is scheduled to take place from October 2 to 4 at the Song Huong Theater, with a reception on the afternoon of October 2 and an official opening on the morning of October 3. This is the first congress after Hue became a centrally-governed city, marking an important milestone in the development process of a heritage city.
Speaking at the press conference, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee Hoang Khanh Hung said that the preparation work has been completed, ensuring progress and requirements according to the direction of the Central Committee.
This Congress has the theme: "Strengthening the building of a clean and strong Party and political system; promoting the strength of the entire people; promoting innovation, mobilizing all resources, creating a breakthrough in socio-economic development; building Hue to develop in the direction of green - smart - rich in identity".
The congress gathered 400 delegates, representing more than 25,000 Party members of the entire city Party Committee, including 152 delegates with master's degrees, 12 doctoral degrees, and 28 delegates from ethnic minorities. The rate of young cadres and cadres with science and technology qualifications is arranged appropriately, meeting the requirements of innovation.
The Congress will summarize the implementation of the Resolution of the 16th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, and at the same time determine the direction, goals and development solutions for the period 2025 - 2030, with the aspiration to turn Hue into a national heritage city, a major center of Southeast Asia in culture, tourism, and specialized healthcare; one of the locomotives in science - technology, education - training, and marine economy.
