On October 22, the Hung Yen Provincial Military Service Council held a conference to deploy the selection and calling of citizens to join the army and perform the People's Public Security service in 2026.
According to the report at the conference, the whole province of Hung Yen currently has 24,461 male citizens aged 17, of which 24,335 citizens are subject to military service registration (NVQS) and 126 citizens are not subject to registration. By October 10, 2025, 24,355 citizens had registered for NVQS at the age of 17.
Through the review, the number of citizens of military service age is 88,571 people, including 36 citizens exempted from military service, 51,309 citizens temporarily deferred and 37,226 citizens under military service. In 2026, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security assigned Hung Yen province a total of 5,290 new recruits, of which 4,750 citizens will be assigned to the military service and 540 citizens will be assigned to the People's Public Security.
According to the plan, communes and wards in the province will organize a health screening from October 18 to 31, 2025. By October 21, 3 localities had completed the preliminary selection, including Viet Tien commune, A Sao commune and Vu Phuc ward.

The work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army was implemented synchronously, closely and in accordance with the procedures by the Provincial Military Command and departments, branches and localities. The management, review and classification of military readiness sources have been seriously implemented at the grassroots level; the coordination between the police and military forces has been effectively promoted.
In his speech, Mr. Nguyen Le Huy - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels, sectors, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to strengthen propaganda and mobilize young people to enthusiastically participate in the Vietnam Fatherland Front, considering this a key political task. Mr. Huy assigned the Provincial Military Command to continue to advise on strict implementation of the stages, coordinate with military receiving units, ensure the selection and delivery of troops according to plan, safely and effectively.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the Chairman of the People's Committee and the Chairman of the Commune-level Military Command must take responsibility if there is a shortage of troops or the targets are not met; the results of the selection and performance of the obligation to participate in the People's Public Security will be an important criterion in the annual emulation and reward assessment.
