On May 12, Bao Lam District People's Committee is completing a report on this route to submit to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and branches for consideration, appraisal and approval of the route investment policy.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "People have paid for nearly 10 years, the inter-commune road is still dusty and muddy". The content of the article reflects that people have paid compensation for nearly 10 years but the inter-commune road is still in a state of serious degradation, dusty sunshine, muddy rain...
The inter-commune road connecting the center of Loc Duc commune (Bao Lam district) to Doan Thi Diem street (Loc Thanh commune, Bao Loc city) is 3.2km long. This is an important traffic route, serving the travel and freight transportation needs of many people.
In 2016, the authorities of Loc Duc and Loc Ngai communes mobilized people to contribute counterpart funds to build the road, with a rate of 30% from the people and 70% from the State.
However, after the people paid, only 2.2km of the section from Doan Thi Diem Street to the beginning of Village 6 was constructed and put into use. The remaining 1km section connecting to the center of Loc Duc commune is now being "forgotten".
Regarding the route from the center of Loc Duc commune (Bao Lam district) to Doan Thi Diem road to Loc Thanh commune (Bao Loc city), Bao Lam district People's Committee said that this is an important traffic route, playing a role in connecting the district with Bao Loc city, contributing to promoting socio-economic development and creating convenient travel conditions for people. Investing in the construction of this project is necessary and also the earnest wish of local people.
However, due to the limited annual investment capital of the district, while the expected cost of building the road is quite large (about 50 billion VND), the District People's Committee has prepared a dossier and reported a proposal to request investment policy from the province's public investment capital.
In 2024, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council included the project in Resolution 343 dated December 10, 2024 on the public investment plan for 2025. The project includes the construction of the main road and some related connecting branches, with a total investment of 50 billion VND.
Currently, the Department of Finance is appraising the investment policy and has submitted documents to request comments from relevant departments and branches. On that basis, the People's Committee of Bao Lam district assigned the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects and Public Works to urgently complete the dossier as requested, send it to the Department of Finance for further appraisal, and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval.
After the investment policy is approved, the district will implement construction according to regulations, in order to connect trade and meet the travel needs of the people.
According to records, this inter-commune road section of about 1km is only paved with stone, has never been completed and is now seriously degraded.
The road surface is bumpy, full of potholes. Even in many sections, subsidence creates deep holes, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.
