Linking vocational training with economic development
Statistics from the Dak Glong District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center show that since the beginning of the year, the unit has organized enrollment for 7 vocational training classes with nearly 300 students participating, with a total disbursement of more than 1 billion VND.
Most of the students who received vocational training later found jobs or created stable jobs for themselves. From the vocational knowledge they learned, the students have contributed greatly to improving their family's economy.
According to the People's Committee of Dak Glong district, 2025 is a year of special importance in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 12th Provincial and District Party Congress and the socio-economic development plan from 2021 to 2025.
In particular, the district sets many key goals and plans in vocational training for the people. Because the implementation of socio-economic development plan targets is closely linked to the development of vocational education.
This process has opportunities, advantages as well as difficulties and challenges. However, with the efforts of the units, especially the consensus and response of the ethnic people in the area, vocational education in the future will continue to have steps of development.
Ms. Siu H'Mo, in Dak Glong district, shared: "I am one of the households with difficult circumstances in the area. Over 30 years old, I still do not have a stable job. Fortunately, thanks to someone advising me to attend a brocade weaving class organized by the district's Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education, my family life has gradually stabilized."
"I think that vocational training courses like this will help ethnic minorities in the area have the opportunity to preserve their culture and stabilize their lives by doing business and selling brocade products woven by themselves. From there, it will contribute to poverty reduction and socio-economic development in the district," Ms. Siu H'Mo added.
Vocational training associated with job creation
Mr. Hoang Huy Tung - Director of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Dak Glong district informed that in 2024, the center promptly advised the District People's Committee to issue a plan to train new occupations according to market demand. For example, VietGAP standard vegetable growing, durian growing, tourism services, mulberry growing - silkworm raising.
From there, attract more students to acquire knowledge and skills to develop the profession to bring higher economic efficiency to people in the district.
However, the permanent teaching staff of the professions has not been arranged, so it is difficult to proactively research, absorb, build and supplement programs and textbooks.
By 2025, the unit will strive to complete vocational training for about 12 classes. Of which, 7 classes will be for agricultural occupations and 5 classes will be for non-agricultural occupations.
"The Center proposed that the District People's Committee agree to allow the unit to adjust the black-legged chicken farming profession into a cooking profession so that the unit has a basis to implement according to people's needs" - Mr. Tung shared more.
Mr. Doan Van Phuong - Vice Chairman of Dak Glong District People's Committee informed that the District People's Committee has requested the District Business Association to coordinate with the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education, and the People's Committees of communes in organizing training for workers working in small and medium enterprises according to this plan.
Stakeholders participate in monitoring and promptly coordinate to recommend and propose solutions to improve the quality of vocational education to ensure the organization of elementary vocational training and training under 3 months associated with post-training employment in the district.
