On the morning of September 28, at the Cultural Center of Giao Thuy district, a ceremony was held to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the district's establishment, receiving the First Class Labor Medal and the Certificate of recognition for the district meeting the Advanced New Rural Standards in 2023.
With continuous efforts and achievements during the process of building and developing the homeland, Giao Thuy district has received many noble titles and awards from the Party and State.
At the ceremony to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the district's establishment, authorized by the President, Mr. Pham Gia Tuc - Secretary of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee awarded the First Class Labor Medal of the President to the Party Committee, Government and People of Giao Thuy district.
Previously, in 2012, the Party Committee, Government and People of Giao Thuy district were honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President; in 2017, the President awarded the Second Class Labor Medal.
In 2023, the people and officials of Giao Thuy district were awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Prime Minister; the District Party Committee was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial Party Executive Committee for excellently completing its tasks.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee Pham Gia Tuc requested the Party Committee, Government and People of Giao Thuy district to continue promoting the heroic revolutionary and cultural traditions, continue to unite, mobilize the strength of the entire political system, the strength of the entire people, overcome difficulties to build Giao Thuy district to be truly strong in all aspects.
Giao Thuy district is the first district of Nam Dinh province to be among the top 10 districts nationwide to be recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.
Up to now, the whole district has 18 communes meeting the Advanced New Rural standards, of which 14 communes have met the Model New Rural standards; 2 towns have met the Civilized Urban standards. Of which, Giao Phong is the first commune in the province to be recognized as meeting the Model New Rural standards and is 1 of 9 communes nationwide selected to pilot the construction of a Smart New Rural commune.
In addition to the district planning approved in 2017, Giao Thuy has deployed and completed the land use planning for the period 2021 - 2030; integrated into the provincial planning 6 Industrial Parks, 13 Industrial Clusters with a total scale and area of nearly 3,000 hectares. At the same time, completed the Giao Thuy - Hai Hau inter-district planning, until 2030, with a vision to 2050; planned the development of concentrated residential areas in the area, with 35 synchronous, modern, and civilized concentrated residential areas.
The total capital mobilized for new rural construction in the 2010-2023 period of Giao Thuy district reached nearly 6,200 billion VND. Of which, people voluntarily contributed in cash, in kind, and labor days to build roads, alleys, hamlets, cultural houses, etc. with an amount of nearly 1,100 billion VND, accounting for nearly 34%.
