Regarding the series of accidents on the parallel road of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, which occurred on November 28, on December 5, Thu Duc City Police said that the male driver had alcohol concentration in his breath, but the blood test results were contradictory.
The test results at the medical facility for the 49-year-old male driver showed that there was no alcohol concentration in the blood. The alcohol concentration in the breath measured immediately after the accident on the evening of November 28 was due to this person having tested probiotics for research and teaching purposes (this person is a lecturer at a university in Ho Chi Minh City).
Thus, the investigation agency will base on the driver's blood test results to handle the case.
Previously, on November 28, a 7-seat car driven by a man was traveling on the parallel road of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway, in the direction from Vo Chi Cong intersection to An Phu intersection.
Just after passing the intersection with Do Xuan Hop street about 300m, there was a collision with a 16-seat passenger bus traveling in the opposite direction.
After the collision, the 7-seat car crossed into the opposite direction, drove 50 meters and crashed into 3 motorbikes. The vehicle only stopped when the front axle broke off.
The police then took the driver to headquarters, quickly tested the alcohol concentration in his breath, the results showed a level two violation - exceeding 0.25 milligrams to 0.4 milligrams/1 liter of breath.
At the scene, the 7-seat car was severely damaged, the entire vehicle lying on the opposite side of the road. 3 motorbikes were hit by the car, debris was scattered all over the road.
The multiple accidents left four people injured and hospitalized. Three of the victims suffered multiple injuries and were taken to Le Van Thinh Hospital, while the remaining person only suffered minor injuries.
