In recent years, at many festival events, in addition to joy and celebration, the large amount of waste generated has put great pressure on environmental sanitation.
The image of plastic bottles, plastic bags, and food wrappers left behind after each event not only causes outrage in society but also reduces the image of civilization in the eyes of the community and international friends.
With the desire to change that situation, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the Vietnam Water Resources Conservation Network, the Pioneer Women's Network in Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Center for Environmental and Community Research (CECR) launched the movement: "civilization is a big festival - Bringing garbage home together".
The movement aims to build civilized habits when participating in community events, with two key messages:
Each individual: Collect their own waste, bring it home or deposit it in the right place.
Each collective and organization: Mobilize, propagate and spread the message of "living green - living civilized".
Specific actions include:
Prepare your personal trash bag when attending the event.
Collecting his own trash, not leaving the scene.
Bring the garbage home or deposit it in the right place according to regulations.
Spread the green spirit by sharing your actions, posting photos with the hashtag: # MangRacVeNha #2Thang9Green #SongVanMinh #ToQuoc MaiGreen
Sharing about this movement, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Ly - Chairman of the CECR Management Board emphasized: In event waste management, personal responsibility is a key factor. When each person brings their own garbage, we not only reduce the pressure on collection but also work together to maintain a green, clean and civilized city. On the occasion of September 2 this year, keeping public spaces clean is not only awareness but also love for the city and the country".
The movement "Large festival civilization - Bring trash home together" has received strong response from thousands of people across the country, with remarkable initial results: The Government Information Portal attracted more than 80,000 interactions and 1,500 shares; many organizations, unions, schools, and residential groups have actively participated and spread with support and sharing from leaders of organizations and KOLs.
The diverse participation of state agencies, businesses, social organizations, schools and the community has affirmed the strong influence and practicality of the movement.
The movement is making efforts to call on agencies, units, and organizations to integrate the movement message into internal activities.
Encourage cadres, staff, students, and union members to practice and spread the movement.
Accompanying communication by sharing posters, videos, and messages on the unit's communication channels.
"When each person - each organization - each community joins hands, the river festival will leave a smile, beautiful memories and no more waste" - VATR representative called for.
The program's slogan:
"Cultured Vietnamese people keep Trash with us Watch all the Thi Ninh parade home"
