On June 28, according to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, National Highway 1, the bypass of Ha Tinh city (old) with a length of more than 16km, the section from Thach Ha commune intersection to Cam Binh commune intersection has many sunken, cracked, and peeling positions.
Among them, the most degraded section belongs to Ha Huy Tap ward. This is also a section with a high volume of trucks carrying construction materials passing through recently.
To overcome this, the maintenance and repair unit has just deployed to scrape and re-asphalt locations and sections of the route that are degraded and heavily damaged so that vehicles can travel more conveniently.
Mr. Le Duy Anh - a management official of the Central Road Project Management Board said that in 2026, the Board will implement a package for maintenance and repair of National Highway 1 bypassing Ha Tinh city (old) with a budget of more than 11 billion VND. The construction unit is Joint Stock Company 289 (located in Nghe An province).
Also according to Mr. Anh, the implementation of the bidding package should have been earlier, starting from April 2026. However, in the past, due to high material price fluctuations, the implementation was delayed, and the contractor has only started construction for a few days recently.
According to the plan, this bidding package will be implemented in 120 days. However, due to objective factors from fluctuations in construction material prices, if the progress is delayed, it will have to be extended.
Mr. Anh affirmed that the maintenance, repair of degraded locations on National Highway 1, the bypass of Ha Tinh city (old) will continue to be implemented in the near future.
The repair is aimed at ensuring safe and convenient traffic for vehicles, and limiting traffic accidents due to damaged and degraded roads.
