Heavy rain in the early morning of June 17 caused many landslides in Bang Thanh commune.
Information from the road management unit, DT 258C route connecting from the center of Bang Thanh commune to Son Lo commune (Cao Bang) with a length of about 22km has experienced positive taluy landslides at 11 locations.
Soil and rocks from the positive slope overflowed into the road surface, causing local traffic congestion on the route.

After receiving the information, the management unit mobilized excavators and personnel to urgently deploy landslide remediation, ensuring traffic safety. By about 2 pm, the landslide locations were basically handled, and the road was temporarily opened to traffic.
Currently, the unit is continuing to focus machinery and manpower to thoroughly overcome landslide points and reinforce slopes.
Also in Bang Thanh commune, floods have caused damage to many localities.
In Khuoi Khi village, rain and floods caused landslides of positive and negative slopes in many locations.
One household was flooded with soil and rocks in their house with a volume of about 40m3, posing a risk of unsafety and forcing them to relocate to a new residence. Another household was seriously damaged by landslides.
About 8 hectares of rice and corn of more than 30 households were buried; about 800kg of fish of 3 aquaculture households were swept away.
In Khuoi Linh village, 15 households were affected by landslides. More than 40 households with about 7 hectares of rice and corn were completely buried; 2 fish ponds were swept away by floodwaters.
The inter-village road Khuoi Linh - Khuoi Khi was seriously landslide with a volume of soil and rock of about 5,000m3.
Rain and floods also caused damage in Ban Khua, Na Lai, Lung Mit, Phia Dam, Khuoi Man and Ban Man villages. Some inter-village and inter-village roads have landslides, causing difficulties for people's travel.
