On the morning of October 1, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the leader of Nong Cong commune, Thanh Hoa province said that the flood water had begun to recede, only in some places, the village was still deeply flooded. Currently, the authorities are actively supporting the people.
In the area of Nong Cong General Hospital alone, some points were still flooded about 1 meter deep. Medical examination and treatment are difficult, but all activities are still taking place normally. The authorities continue to support and supply essential items" - said a representative of the leader of Nong Cong commune.
It is known that on the same morning, many relief and volunteer groups returned to the locality to give necessities to people in the villages that were still affected.
Previously, on the morning of September 30, the entire Nong Cong commune had 30/44 villages with 3,200 households and 11,330 people deeply submerged in floodwater. Of which, more than 300 households (more than 1,200 people) had to be relocated to high-rise buildings to ensure safety.
According to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, as of 3:30 p.m. on September 30, floods have killed 4 people, left 1 person missing and injured 6 others. The whole province had 1,045 damaged houses, of which 20 houses completely collapsed; 8,850 houses were flooded, most concentrated in Nong Cong (3,200 houses), Kim Tan (1,617 houses), Tien Trang (2,000 houses).

Consecutive storms No. 8, 9, 10 and floods caused by the storm have killed 19 people and many people are missing.
