Ho Chi Minh Road, the section passing through Nghia Thanh Ward, Gia Nghia City, has seriously sunk during the 2023 rainy season.
Currently, the Dak Nong Department of Transport is appraising the recovery project report. This report was prepared by BOT and PT Duc Long Dak Nong Joint Stock Company.
After appraisal, the investor will adjust the financial plan for the National Highway 14 BOT project, submit it to the competent authority for approval.
Next, the Department of Transport will submit to the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee for approval the feasibility study report of the project to fix the problem.
The project is expected to start construction in July 2025 and be accepted in July 2026.

Previously, in 2024, the National Highway 14 Subsidence Assessment Team reported the cause.
The report shows that the incident was due to sudden increases in rainfall in the conditions of steep terrain, strong isolation, combined with rapid increase in groundwater and unfavorable geology.
The plot of land for leveling (belonging to the technical infrastructure project of the residential area near the negative slope of the road) has collapsed.
The incident occurred from Km1900+350 to Km1900+650 on Ho Chi Minh Road. Cracks and subsidence began to appear on August 2, 2023, and became more severe.
The main road on the right side of the route (from Dak Nong to Dak Lak) has many cracks, the longest of which is more than 40m 10-15cm wide.
Some sections of the median strip and the service road are heavily sunken 3.5-5m below the road surface). This caused 2/4 lanes to be cut off.
The authorities have fenced off and put up traffic ban signs since the beginning of August 2023.
