On August 12, information from Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that the locality has just announced the list of specialized management units to receive the transfer of assets that are specimens of wild animals and plants under Appendix I of the CITES Convention or endangered, precious, and rare species in the forestry sector.
According to the announced decision, 2 units assigned to receive, manage, preserve or care for the transferred specimens include the Management Board of Nui Chua - Phuoc Binh National Park and the Management Board of Hon Ba Nature Reserve.
For the Management Board of Nui Chua - Phuoc Binh National Park, the unit headquartered at 330 Truong Chinh, Ninh Chu ward, Khanh Hoa province, is allowed to receive living, healthy forest animals to release back to the natural environment and living plants.
However, the reception of animals and plants at this unit is only carried out for species with natural distribution suitable to the ecosystem of Nui Chua National Park or Phuoc Binh National Park.
Similarly, the Hon Ba Nature Reserve Management Board, headquartered at No. 28 Hung Vuong, Dien Khanh commune, Khanh Hoa province, is receiving living, healthy forest animals to release back to the natural environment and living plants.
For this unit, specimens are only accepted when they belong to species with natural distribution suitable for the ecosystem of Hon Ba Nature Reserve.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to organize the implementation of the decision; and at the same time monitor, inspect and supervise the implementation.
In case the receiving conditions of units change or the law has new regulations, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is responsible for advising the Provincial People's Committee to consider, adjust, and supplement the list according to regulations.
The Management Board of Nui Chua - Phuoc Binh National Park and the Management Board of Hon Ba Nature Reserve are responsible for receiving, managing, preserving or caring for the transferred assets in accordance with legal regulations.
The list announcement is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 77/2025/ND-CP dated April 1, 2025 of the Government, creating a basis for the receipt, management and treatment of rare and precious wild animal and plant specimens to be carried out uniformly, in accordance with regulations and in accordance with the conservation conditions of each area.
