On the afternoon of December 15, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee reported a summary of natural disaster prevention and control work in 2025.
Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong assessed that the recent natural disaster was a valuable lesson for all forces as well as the people.

To best implement natural disaster prevention and control, it is recommended that all levels and sectors absolutely do not be subjective, taking the safety of people as the highest measure of work efficiency.
In addition, the Chairman of Khanh Hoa province stated that natural disaster prevention and control is an important, regular and long-term task; proactively preventing is the main task, responding promptly, overcoming urgently, and rebuilding sustainably.
According to the assessment of local authorities, the flood period lasting from November 16 to November 22, 2025 caused widespread flooding across the province, seriously affecting people's lives, production and safety.
According to statistics, the whole province has 21,754 households with 359,316 people directly affected by flooding. The police, military, border guards, militia and local shock forces have evacuated and relocated 30,903 households with 118,839 people to safety.
By the end of November 2025, floods have killed 22 people and injured 20 people in Khanh Hoa province.
From the reality of heavy damage, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province recommends that the Central Government soon issue a special policy to support businesses that have suffered losses, including solutions to extend, postpone, reduce taxes and fees; defer debt, extend debt, support loan interest rates; support insurance for assets and goods damaged by natural disasters.
In addition, the province proposed that the Central Government support 572 billion VND from the central budget to invest in 9 projects to urgently overcome the damage caused by floods in 2025.
Notably, Khanh Hoa proposed to allocate VND 5,435 billion to invest in 2 long-term disaster prevention and control projects, including: Van Dinh Bridge (Traffic area) with a total investment of about VND 150 billion.
In addition, there is the flood drainage system in the West of Nha Trang area (environmental protection, climate change response) with an estimated cost of VND 5,285 billion.
In addition to infrastructure investment, Khanh Hoa province proposed that the Central Government support 350 billion VND to help about 70,000 households that were deeply flooded and had completely damaged household items to stabilize their lives soon.
For the agricultural sector, the province proposed supporting 458 billion VND from the central budget to restore production in areas damaged by floods.
In addition, Khanh Hoa also proposed to soon approve the investment policy for the Nha Trang - Da Lat expressway, to ensure traffic safety during the rainy season, while promoting regional connectivity between Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and the Central Highlands provinces.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee recommends that the Central Government direct the review and updating of flood prevention and control planning according to the historical flood-exceeding water level scenario for major rivers in the area, especially Cai Nha Trang River, to proactively respond to natural disasters in the coming time.
On the same afternoon, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong presented Certificates of Merit to 50 groups and 62 individuals with outstanding achievements in response, relief, and overcoming flood consequences in Khanh Hoa province.
