On July 21, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province met with relevant units on the design idea for the project to renovate and renovate the tourism and service development of the Tac and Quan Truong river systems.
The two rivers mentioned above belong to the wards of Tay Nha Trang, Bac Nha Trang and Nam Nha Trang.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Hoa Nam - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Development Project Management Board to coordinate with relevant units to urgently complete the design ideas and project documents to advise the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee in July 2025.
In particular, it is necessary to review land funds for implementing investment in landscape on both sides of rivers in accordance with the development orientation of adjacent projects; at the same time, study investment phases to mobilize resources.
According to the consulting unit, the Quan Truong and Tac rivers are currently being encroached upon the riverbed, obstructing the flow and polluting the environment.
The renovation and embellishment of these two rivers combined with tourism development is extremely necessary, in line with the planning orientation of Nha Trang (old) to 2040 approved by the Prime Minister.
The consulting unit proposed the design idea in the direction of connecting the Quan Truong River and Tac River with the Cai River, forming an ecological, tourism and cultural belt about 26km long and creating a synchronous waterway transport system.
The project will combine the development of public spaces to serve people and tourists. Specifically, Quan Truong River will be divided into 5 sub-areas, Tac River will be divided into 4 sub-areas for renovation, creating cruise routes and ecological walking paths along the river.
