On July 22, news from the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang ward said that there is a plan to organize the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains in the area.
This is an activity under the "Operation 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains".
According to the plan, the ward's forces will focus on searching for and repatriating 9 sets of remains of martyrs who sacrificed and were initially buried in the Dong Bo mountain area, belonging to Phuoc Tan residential group.
The activity is implemented through 2 peak periods. Phase 1 takes place from July 22 to July 31, 2026; phase 2 from August 3 to August 15, 2026.
To complete the set goals, the Ward People's Committee assigned the Ward Military Command to organize militia forces to coordinate with relevant units to participate in searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains according to verified locations.
Ward police are assigned to coordinate in participating in searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains; organize biological sample collection for DNA testing to identify martyrs' identities according to regulations.
In addition, the Department of Culture - Society, Veterans Association, Department of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Area, Galina Ho Kenh Ha Tourist Area Management Board, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the ward and Phuoc Tan residential group will mobilize forces, ensure equipment, communication and necessary conditions throughout the implementation process.
After 2 peak periods, the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang ward will continue to receive information provided by agencies, units and people to deploy subsequent search and repatriation campaigns, contributing to the good implementation of gratitude and gratitude to heroic martyrs.
According to the Central Government's plan, Khanh Hoa province is assigned to perform 3 tasks in the "Operation 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains".
The locality will search for and repatriate about 150 martyrs' remains; verify and conclude 168 search areas with 946 information about martyrs' graves; and at the same time organize sampling of 2,234 martyrs' remains to serve DNA testing.
Mr. Nguyen Long Bien - Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that the whole province currently has 8 martyrs' cemeteries with more than 7,000 graves, of which 2,234 graves have not been identified.
The tasks assigned by the Central Government are identified as particularly important political tasks.
