On April 27, Mr. Tran Van Thi - Director of My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) - said that during the upcoming April 30 and May 15 holidays, at the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project site, the units will continue to maintain construction in 3 shifts, 4 teams, with a total of more than 20 construction teams, more than 80 equipment units, about 350 workers and 50 technical staff.
The road section of this project has 14 main construction teams, 60 equipment teams, 30 technical staff and about 155 workers. They will construct the above foundation layer of stone; cast concrete and install a median strip; construct ramp branch box culverts; construct asphalt concrete on the road surface...
For the bridge section on the project route, there are 3 main construction teams, 5 equipment teams, 5 technical staff and about 45 workers. They will construct items such as: Xoai Hot bridge: construction of material embankment behind the abutment; construction of the transitional section behind the abutment; Song Ma bridge: construction of cross-beams; pouring concrete for the bridge deck; construction of the My Tho bridge expansion joints.
As for the main bridge (Rach Mieu 2 bridge), there are 3 main construction teams, more than 15 equipment teams, 15 technical staff and about 150 workers. They will construct items such as: dismantling the dragon fruit burning scaffolding; removing cast iron cars; casting railing edges; removing the cable-stayed railing system.
According to Mr. Thi, it is expected that by June 30, 2025, the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project will complete all 5/5 bridges on the route and basically complete the approach road. It is expected that the entire Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project will be completed and put into operation in August 2025.
Director of My Thuan Project Management Board Tran Van Thi added that up to now, the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project has completed 85.05% of the volume, exceeding the general progress by more than 4% compared to the plan. In particular, the main bridge (Rach Mieu 2 bridge) is more than 14% ahead of schedule.
Accordingly, up to now, the road section on the entire route has been completed 14/14km (100%). Of which, about 7/14km of asphalt concrete has been spread in each segment and it is expected to complete the entire route on the Ben Tre side before June 30, 2025.
Regarding the bridge section on the route, 4/6 bridges have been completed; the remaining 2 bridges under construction are the main bridge and the Song Ma bridge. Of which, Song Ma bridge is expected to be completed in June 2025.
As for the main bridge, the main cable-stayed bridge bridge was closed on April 19, 2025, and is currently in the process of dismantling the girder casting, constructing completed items such as: track edge, median strip, lighting, bridge deck expansion joints...

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has a starting point at the intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870 in Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province, and an end point connecting to National Highway 60 at the Ham Luong Bridge approach road in Ben Tre Province. This project has a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 80km/h, with a total investment of more than 6,810 billion VND.
