Unlocking human resources, paving the way for Khanh Hoa to develop

Unlocking human resources, innovating training, linking schools with businesses and building an employment ecosystem will be solutions to pave the way for Khanh Hoa to break through.

Ordering human resource training

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, the locality is facing a great opportunity when it is identified as the growth engine of the South Central Coast - Central Highlands region, aiming to become a centrally-run city. However, besides infrastructure, large projects and special mechanisms, Khanh Hoa needs quality human resources to operate a new development ecosystem.

To overcome the labor shortage situation, the province is promoting supply-demand connections, organizing job exchanges, attracting labor from neighboring localities and improving the quality of vocational training.

Khanh Hoa is innovating training according to market demand and economic development orientation. In March 2026, the province issued a program to support the development of the labor market to 2030, and at the same time surveyed the human resource needs of the industry and energy sectors in the period 2026-2033. The project on training high-quality human resources in the period 2026-2035, with a vision to 2045, is also being completed.

Khanh Hoa focuses on linking schools and businesses, allowing businesses to participate from program development, practice to vocational skills assessment, contributing to narrowing the gap between training and practice.

Along with that, the province develops an ecosystem around the industrial park with social housing, worker housing, schools, hospitals and accompanying services, creating a stable living environment, attracting and retaining workers.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thanh Phong - Rector of Pacific University - shared that the school invites experts in the fields of logistics, hotels, and tourism to participate in teaching, increasing practical experience and creating job opportunities for students while they are still in school.

Strengthening links between "3 Houses

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Director of the Boston Global Forum - once raised the issue of building a Khanh Hoa that gathers intellectual capital. In which, the locality needs to build advanced health and education infrastructure to attract talented people to live and work; to become a gathering place for creators, forming pioneering initiatives and products and attracting world elite.

In terms of training, Dr. Quach Hoai Nam - Rector of Nha Trang University - said that it is necessary to strengthen the linkage between "3 Houses": State - School - Enterprise in human resource development. The province needs to pay attention to supporting the Government to soon approve the Project to invest in upgrading Nha Trang University to become a regional university; and at the same time participate more deeply in building the National Center for Ocean Technology Research, High-Tech Marine Aquaculture Center, Information Technology Human Resource Training Center, Semiconductor Production Center and Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thanh Phong - Rector of Pacific University - assessed that localities, businesses and universities need to ensure housing conditions, a suitable working environment and long-term preferential policies and career development.

Universities in Khanh Hoa proposed that localities support funding for applied research, and at the same time expand training in key industries such as maritime engineering, logistics, seaport management, AI in tourism and digital business.

On the management side, the province identifies developing high-quality human resources, especially for the energy and high-tech industry sectors, as a strategic task in the coming time.

Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Ha said that human resource development is a comprehensive development strategy, a prerequisite for Khanh Hoa to break through. The province is implementing many synchronous solutions, with the consistent view that it must create a sufficiently good development ecosystem so that workers have the opportunity to develop their careers, increase income and be attached to the locality for a long time. The province focuses on improving the capacity of vocational training institutions, especially technical, technology and energy training schools.

Strengthening cooperation with businesses, international organizations and experienced training units to gradually approach advanced training standards is also being promoted.
