Commencement and inauguration of 17 projects and works
Among the 17 typical projects and works, there are 11 works inaugurated and technically opened to traffic and 6 projects and works started, with a total investment of about 397.018 billion VND.
17 typical projects and works selected are spread across the fields of transport infrastructure, water supply and drainage, railways, urban embellishment, urban development and exploitation, promoting the value of West Lake space.
These are all large-scale projects, playing an important role in completing the framework infrastructure, improving flood prevention capacity, strengthening connectivity and expanding the development potential of the Capital.
11 projects and works inaugurated and technically opened to traffic include: Ring Road 1, Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section; Phu Do regulating lake; Thuy Phuong canal renovation to replenish water from To Lich river; Yen Nghia 1 regulating lake; Thuy Phuong 2 regulating lake; Upgrading downstream of Kim Nguu connecting To Lich river - Yen So pumping station; Me Tri headwater lake (Dong Bong 2 lake); Installing additional pumping stations for lakes, regulating tanks, and drainage pipes.
Project to renovate, upgrade, and build new drainage works to treat flooding (in Resco urban area, Ecohome, West West Lake, Diplomatic Corps, Ciputra, Vo Chi Cong area, Long Bien, Dong Anh, Gia Lam); Renovate and increase the capacity of some existing pumping stations, combined with installing some makeshift pumping stations and renovate and build new drainage culverts and ditches to solve flooding in the area along Thang Long Avenue; Invest in building Yen Nghia 2 regulating lake.
6 projects and works started include: Ring Road 3.5 section from Phuc La - Van Phu to Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway; National Railway Ring Road East section Ngoc Hoi - Kim Son; Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway renovation section Phu Xuyen - Ngoc Hoi; Vinh Hung urban area renovation, embellishment, and reconstruction; Multi-purpose urban area in Binh Minh and Tam Hung communes; Renovation and promotion of the value of the West Lake area and the lakeside landscape traffic route under BT contract.
The commencement and inauguration of 17 typical projects and works on the occasion of National Day is part of Hanoi's overall large-scale investment program in 2026.
Soon put into synchronous operation and promote the effectiveness of 11 completed projects
Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang emphasized that the 17 projects and works inaugurated and started today have different scales and natures, but all show quite clear priorities of Hanoi in the current period in the field of urban infrastructure, renovation and reconstruction of existing urban areas to improve the quality of life of the people.
To ensure that the works and projects are inaugurated and started to promote the right goals, the Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee proposed that for the 11 completed works, they must be put into synchronous operation soon and promote practical efficiency.
For drainage works, it is necessary to organize operation according to the system, according to the basin; monitor effectiveness in practice, especially through heavy rains, to continue adjusting the operating plan and identify items that still need to be supplemented. For traffic works, it is necessary to organize traffic reasonably, ensuring safety and exploiting the capacity of the works well after putting them into use.
With 6 newly started projects, the Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee requested that they be done carefully from the beginning.
According to Mr. Vu Dai Thang, these are all large-scale projects, many projects have a long implementation time and directly impact Hanoi's traffic and urban structure. Therefore, issues related to planning, procedures, site clearance, design, resources and connection with common infrastructure must be handled synchronously.
Investors, investors, and contractors must build feasible progress, allocate sufficient resources and be responsible for the quality and progress of the project. Difficulties that can be predicted must be handled early, limiting adjustments, cost incursions and prolonging implementation time.
City agencies must proactively remove difficulties and improve responsibility in handling work.
The City People's Committee will continue to inspect the progress of key projects, directly handle difficulties under its authority and coordinate with central ministries and branches on inter-sectoral issues" - Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee said.
In addition to the 17 typical projects and works mentioned above, to celebrate National Day September 2, departments, sectors, investors, and investors have also registered to start construction and inaugurate about 37 projects and works in Hanoi with a total investment of 4, 216 billion VND.
Including 7 projects and works inaugurated and technically opened to traffic with a total investment of 154 billion VND and 30 projects and works started with a total investment of 4,062 billion VND.
