On October 8, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Tri Province Police issued a decision to prosecute Ho Van Dung (born in 1996, residing in Kim Nai village, Truong Ninh commune, Quang Tri province), a tractor-trailer driver in a serious traffic accident that occurred on October 6.
According to the initial investigation, Ho Van Dung drove a tractor-trailer with license plate 73F-002.85 pulling a trailer with license plate 73RM-002.50, traveling on the Ho Chi Minh Road East branch in the North - South direction. When reaching Km1062+950 (in Truong Hai village, Con Tien commune), this driver did not observe, did not slow down or stopped when there was a danger warning at the road intersection at the same level, leading to a collision with a car with license plate 30M-051.xx.
The accident caused Ms. N.T.T.H (born in 1978, residing in Hanoi) to die on the spot. Three other injured people include Ms. L.T.H (born in 1987), Mr. D.D.T (born in 1986) and driver V.H. (born in 1991), all residing in Hanoi.
The investigation agency has prosecuted the accused Ho Van Dung for the crime of "Violating regulations on road traffic participation" under Clause 1, Article 260 of the Penal Code.
At the scene, the car was severely damaged, while the tractor-trailer and trailer were slightly damaged.
The incident continued to be clarified by the authorities.
