On the evening of November 26, Lang Son Provincial Police announced that they had issued a decision to prosecute the case to investigate the cause of a particularly serious traffic accident between a tractor-trailer and a car, causing 4 people to die on the spot and 2 people to be seriously injured.
According to initial information, at around 12:48 on the same day, at Km 42+600 National Highway 1, through Hop Nhat village (Nhan Ly commune, Lang Son province), there was a collision between a tractor-trailer with license plate 98E-000.77, pulling a trailer 98R-012.92 driven by Pham Van Dung (born in 1981, residing in Viet Yen, Bac Ninh) in the direction of Hanoi - Lang Son, with a car with license plate 19A-483.13 driven by Lai Quang Nhan (born in 1993, residing in Thuong Tin, Hanoi) in the opposite direction.
The strong collision completely deformed the car. Four people on the bus died on the spot, two other victims were seriously injured and were transferred to Chi Lang Regional Medical Center for emergency care.
Immediately after the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thanh Tung - Director of the Provincial Police, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Duc - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, and the provincial working group led by Mr. Doan Thanh Son - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee were present at the scene.
The authorities quickly protected the scene, diverted traffic, and organized rescue and took the victims to the emergency room.
Under the direct direction of the Provincial Police Director, during the day, the Investigation Police Agency of Lang Son Provincial Police initiated a case of "Violating regulations on road traffic participation", and issued an order to temporarily detain the driver of Lai Quang Nhan in an emergency to serve the investigation.
On the same day, provincial leaders and provincial police also visited and encouraged the injured victims.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to clarify the cause of the accident.
