Recorded on the afternoon of April 21, at 258 Khuat Duy Tien Street, the authorities organized an inspection and assessment of the damage to the elevated Ring Road 3 bridge after the container truck fire on the evening of April 20.
Speaking to Lao Dong newspaper, Mr. Pham Trong Nhi - Director of Hanoi Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company 2 said that the unit will coordinate with relevant units to inspect the current status of the project, support traffic flow and other work according to functions and tasks.
"The results of the damage assessment will be given by the inspection unit after checking the current status of the project," said Mr. Nhi.
Noted at the scene, the burnt container truck is still in the location of the incident, the head of the vehicle is almost burnt. Ring Ring 3 is black and smoky, some locations have concrete peeling, especially right above the top of the container truck - where direct contact with the fire.
It is expected that this afternoon, the car will be moved from the scene to avoid affecting traffic through the above area.
As previously reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 9:00 p.m. on April 20, at the opposite section of 289 Khuat Duy Tien (Thanh Xuan District), a container truck with license plate 14H-0 step 14.XX pulling a trailer with license plate 15R-045.XX, was moving from Mai Dich to Khuat Duy Tien when it suddenly caught fire at the front of the truck.
At the time of the fire, the car was located right under the elevated Ring Road 3, with fire and smoke billowing up with loud explosions.
As soon as the incident was discovered, the driver and passersby tried to put out the fire but failed.
Upon receiving the news, the fire police force quickly arrived at the scene to control the fire, the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 and No. 7 - Hanoi Traffic Police Department was also present to direct traffic and regulate traffic.
Fortunately, the fire did not cause any human casualties, and other property damage is being counted. The cause of the fire is being clarified.
