On February 20, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Trung - Head of the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Quang Tri Provincial Police - said that to ensure traffic order and safety before, during and after the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the unit has simultaneously launched operations, strengthened patrols, inspections, and strictly handled violations.
Accordingly, in 3 days from February 17 to 19 (ie, from the 1st to the 3rd day of Tet), professional teams of the Traffic Police Department mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers along with vehicles and equipment, coordinating with commune police in localities to establish teams and posts on many roads for patrol and control.

Through inspection of nearly 2,000 vehicles of all kinds, functional forces discovered 87 cases of driving vehicles violating alcohol concentration. The total fine amount is more than 422 million VND; dozens of vehicles were temporarily seized; 59 cases were deducted points from driver's licenses according to regulations.
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Trung said that most of the violations are motorbike and motorcycle drivers, concentrated in the central area and key national highways. All cases are strictly handled, with forms such as fines, revocation of driving licenses, and temporary seizure of vehicles.
Strengthening alcohol concentration control right from the early days of the year is identified as a key solution to prevent traffic accidents, curb violations, and contribute to ensuring safety for people to enjoy spring and welcome the new year.
In the coming time, the work of patrolling, controlling and handling alcohol concentration violations will continue to be maintained regularly and continuously, in all hours of the day throughout the province," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Trung informed.
