Recently, the Traffic Police (CSGT) force of the whole Kien Giang province organized a launching ceremony and synchronously deployed many solutions to ensure absolute traffic safety (ATGT) for people on a safe holiday.
According to the forecast, the traffic volume and traffic participants will increase dramatically, especially on gateway routes, bus stations, wharves and key tourist areas during the long holiday of April 30 and May 1 this year.
Traffic police forces across the province have simultaneously deployed patrols, controls, and traffic diversion, while strictly handling violations that are direct causes of accidents and traffic congestion.

Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong, Deputy Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police, said: "We focus on handling violations such as: using alcohol while driving, speeding, encroaching on lanes, carrying more people. Organizing the launching ceremony is to demonstrate the highest determination in ensuring the safety of people during the holiday, avoiding serious accidents or prolonged congestion".
In addition, the Traffic Police force also strengthened coordination with transportation businesses in raising awareness of responsibility and ensuring safety for passengers.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Nhan, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police, informed: "We have deployed forces 24/7 at hot spots such as the gateway to Rach Gia City, Phu Quoc City, key national and provincial highways. At the same time, coordinate to inspect vehicles at bus stations and train stations, remind drivers to absolutely not violate traffic safety regulations".
The authorities also increased propaganda on traffic safety laws at bus stations, wharves, tourist areas and schools. Through distributing leaflets, hanging banners, and mobile radios, the Traffic Police remind people to comply with the law and instruct on safe traffic skills.
Many transport businesses have also responded, committing to strictly comply with legal regulations, all vehicles are technically checked before leaving the station, drivers absolutely do not use alcohol, run on the right route, on the right time and in the right lane.
