On the morning of March 7, at Hang Tien Port, the Military Command of Kien Giang province organized the receipt of 4 newly built logistics service ships in the first phase of 2025 to put into operation and use for the regular Militia Squadron.
These are 4 newly received ships in phase 2, phase 1 of Project No. 10609/DA-BQP, built by Factory X51 (General Department of Defense Industry) and Factory X55 (Department of Engineering, Navy) in accordance with the design and construction quality guaranteed by the State, Ministry of National Defense and Military Region.
At the handover ceremony, representatives of the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial standing Militia Squadron informed about the operation of the ships in the past time. The handover unit and the Provincial Military Command also conducted field inspections on the ships to assess the technical status, check records, technical books, supplies, spare parts, equipment, etc., and at the same time recorded issues that need to be adjusted and overcome in the coming time.

After receiving the ship, the regular militia squadron will stabilize the organization and provide additional training in professional skills to effectively use the ship, ensure seafood exploitation and economic development. At the same time, coordinate with functional forces to grasp the situation, fight to maintain a peaceful environment at sea, prevent crimes, protect fishermen, protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; participate in civil defense, rescue, transportation, supply at sea and perform other tasks.
Since its operation from 2021 to present, the Kien Giang Provincial Militia and Defense Squadron has officially received 9 newly built logistics service ships invested by the Department of Militia and Self-Defense, General Staff, ensuring sufficient payroll according to regulations.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Colonel Truong Thanh Phong - Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 9 - emphasized: The Military Command of Kien Giang province needs to coordinate with competent agencies to organize the receipt and operation of the ships according to the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense and state laws. Advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to continue to pay attention to, lead and direct departments, branches and sectors to ensure resources, especially human resources and policies so that the Permanent Navy can officially operate effectively. Organize the Standing militia of the Navy to thoroughly train the contents of managing and using the numbered ships, and successfully complete the assigned tasks.
