On the morning of June 13, Nhat Le Border Guard Station (Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard) said that it had coordinated with local authorities and people to promptly rescue and salvage a fishing boat at risk of sinking while anchoring to avoid the storm.
At around 5am the same day, the fishing boat with registration number QB-11433-TS of Mr. Le Hai Son (residing in My Canh village, Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city) anchored on the Nhat Le river, about 300m downstream from Nhat Le bridge, suddenly tilted 2/3 of the boat's body, at risk of sinking.
Upon receiving the news, Nhat Le Border Guard Station mobilized 7 officers and soldiers to coordinate with authorities and people to pump water, balance and pull the ship to a safe position. After nearly 2 hours of effort, the ship basically floated, the water tunnels continued to be treated to ensure safety.
The initial cause was determined to be due to the large amount of water flowing in from upstream, overflowing into the holds, causing the ship to lose balance. Estimated damage is about 50 million VND.
Currently, the ship owner's family is coordinating with the authorities to overcome the consequences and increase vehicle inspection to avoid similar incidents during the complicated storms.
