On the afternoon of June 12, the Border Guard of Quang Binh province said that 2 fishing boats of Quang Binh province had sunk in the waters of Quang Ngai province while traveling to avoid storm No. 1.
At about 8:58 a.m. on June 11, fishing boat QB-92756-TS owned by Mr. Phan Thanh Hai sank while traveling at coordinates 14°53'N-110°26'E. On board were 4 crew members, all of whom were rescued safely by fishing boat QB-92405-TS, owned by Mr. Truong Van Tien (Hai Phu commune, Bo Trach district).
At around 12 noon the same day, fishing boat QB-93451-TS of owner Nguyen Huu Duc also had a sinking incident while traveling at coordinates 15°28'N-109°58'E. On board were 4 crew members, all of whom were rescued in time by fishing boat QB-93964-TS, captained by Mr. Mai Thanh Giang (Lien Truong commune, Quang Trach district).
The initial cause of the incident was determined to be a broken water ship, causing water to overflow into the hold. The crew members are now safe.
