On February 13, information from Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company said that the unit had disciplined individuals related to the incident of late closing of the train barrier at the railway crossing in the area of Ho Dac Di Street (An Cuu Ward, Thuan Hoa District, Hue City).
At around 3:56 p.m. on January 18, traffic participants passing through the intersection with the North-South railway at Ho Dac Di Street were very panicked when a train was moving towards them, but the barrier had not been raised yet, and there was no train warning signal.
When the train approached and heard the train whistle, traffic participants stopped and the staff on duty at the barrier pulled the barrier out. Images from the camera showed that when the barrier was not fully closed, the train rushed forward at high speed and continuously honked the horn. Fortunately, no accident occurred.
Immediately after the incident, on January 18, the company suspended the three employees on duty at the crossing and asked them to write a report to clarify the cause. The cause was determined to be due to errors by the crossing guards and railway signal information equipment.
To date, these three employees have been disciplined by extending their salary increases and transferring them to other jobs unrelated to railway safety.
In addition, the Chief of Hue Guard Palace (in charge of Thuan Hoa and Phu Xuan districts, Hue City) was also disciplined with a reprimand for his related responsibility.
