On September 26, Mr. Tong Giang Nam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Teh district (Lam Dong) informed that the authorities have agreed on a plan to overcome the incident to quickly reopen provincial road 721 in Da Teh district.
According to Mr. Nam, the chosen solution was to install concrete culverts and build a temporary bypass around the landslide. This plan was implemented from the afternoon of September 25. However, heavy rain in the evening forced the units to temporarily stop.
On September 26, the specialized forces continued their work. After completing the temporary bypass, the authorities will open the road to all types of vehicles.
Regarding the above landslide, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has issued a document directing the Department of Transport to preside over and coordinate with Da Teh district to continue monitoring developments; regulate and organize traffic flow to ensure safety for vehicles passing through.
At the same time, Lam Dong province requested units to proactively and quickly implement solutions to reconnect traffic on Provincial Road 721.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, due to heavy rain lasting through the night of September 24 to the early morning of September 25, a serious landslide occurred at the drainage culvert on Provincial Road 721, passing through Loc Hoa village (Da Lay commune, Da Teh district).
At this landslide point, a deep hole was created that ate into the roadbed, almost completely breaking the road surface, creating a death hole.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Da Teh district has blocked off the scene, prohibiting cars from passing in both directions; at the same time, arranged forces to be on duty 24/7 at both ends of the landslide to ensure safety and deploy plans and measures to overcome the landslide.
