In the early morning of tomorrow, January 11, the mid-life period will appear. This is a phenomenon when the Moon enters the Earth's dark side. Unlike a partial or total moon, during the dark Lunar New Year, the Moon only enters the Earth's dark Hemisphere - an area that still receives a significant portion of the sunlight.
According to the Vietnam Young Astronomical Society, in 2020, there were three mid-night auctions that took place and could be observed in Vietnam. Among them, the most notable time will happen this weekend because it has the largest coverage and the Moon will be high in the sky for easy observation when the sky is not cloudy.
"The phenomenon will last for 4 hours. According to Hanoi time (same as in other provinces and cities), the mid-afternoon lunar calendar will start at 00:10 on Saturday morning, reach its peak at 02:10 and end at 04:10" - Mr. Dang Vu Tuan Son - Chairman of the Vietnam Young Astronomical Association VACA said.
According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Young Astronomical Society VACA, at the peak, over 80% of the moon's bright discs will enter the Earth's dark half and become better, while turning light red. It is located very high in the sky at midnight and gradually moves westward as it moves towards morning.
"To observe the mid-afternoon menstrual cycle in the early morning of tomorrow, it depends largely on weather conditions. You will easily determine the Moon if it is less cloudy, less fog, no rain.
In areas that are too polluted or covered by a thin layer of clouds, even when you see the Moon, you will hardly notice the obvious difference. In addition, choose places with wide views, large skies, less pollution, and less artificial light that shines directly into the eyes" - Mr. Tuan Son said.
According to Mr. Son, unlike sunflowers, sunflowers are completely harmless to the eyes, so you can observe with the naked eye. Of course, an satellite or small focus will better support your observation. And finally, don't forget to observe the weather in advance as well as ensure your safety if you observe outside at midnight.
Other areas that have also been observed for this period include all of Europe and Asia, most of Africa, a small part of North America and Australia.
What is real estate in the dark?
In fact, the dark side is a phenomenon when the Moon enters the Earth's dark side. Unlike a partial or total moon, during the dark Lunar New Year, the Moon only enters the Earth's dark Hemisphere - an area that still receives a significant portion of the sunlight. Therefore, it does not get dark and becomes as dark red as partially or completely menstrual. Instead, the Moon will only darken slightly and appear light red.
