A series of transport projects are stuck in place
According to Lao Dong, Mai Chi Tho street is 8 lanes wide, nearly 2km long in Long Bien district, and has now become a cycling and running destination for local people.
According to the plan, when the entire route is opened to traffic, Mai Chi Tho Street will connect to Ngo Gia Tu Street. However, from 2018 to now, this street has not been able to open and connect due to problems in site clearance. This street has two bottlenecks: the intersection with Van Hanh street and the section through Duc Giang ward connecting to Ngo Gia Tu street. In particular, the section intersecting with Van Hanh Street currently has many temporary houses that have not been cleared.
Because this is a crowded street with few vehicles, this place has become a favorite exercise spot for people. Meanwhile, many cars and motorbikes traveling on this road often have to turn around to find another road or turn onto a narrow concrete road to continue moving.
Similarly, the nearly 1km long road connecting Duc Giang - Dang Vu Hy streets through Duc Giang Primary School (Long Bien district) is also in a state of disrepair and cannot be opened to traffic. Although it has been under construction for many years, the road has not been completed. The road is about 24m wide, with 4 lanes, and has now become a place for people to collect waste.
In Hanoi, there are many traffic projects that are still unfinished. This causes traffic congestion not only to be solved but also wastes resources.
After 5 years of operation, Pham Tu Street (Thanh Tri District, Hanoi) has been blocked by site clearance, so the overpass cannot be implemented, turning Pham Tu - Phuc La intersection into a traffic jam hot spot in the city, causing difficulties for people to travel.
Recorded during rush hour, at Pham Tu - Road 70 intersection, traffic density is high. Container trucks, heavy trucks, and passenger cars are next to each other inching forward. Motorbikes squeeze into the middle of cars, many vehicles on the sidewalk.
In Nam Tu Liem district, the Vu Quynh road construction project, although only 1.4km long, has not been completed after nearly 5 years of construction.
Although only over 2km long, the road connecting Ring Road 2 and Ring Road 3 (connecting from Nhat Tan bridge intersection in Phu Thuong ward, Tay Ho district to Thang Long bridge intersection in Dong Ngac ward, Bac Tu Liem district) after 7 years is still only 90% complete due to problems related to site clearance.
Similarly, the Le Duc Tho - Pham Hung (Nam Tu Liem District) connecting road project is 1.12km long and has not been completed after nearly 8 years.
