At noon on March 21, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Philippe Tabarot - Minister of Transport (under the Ministry of Ecological Transformation, Minister of Foreign Affairs) who is visiting and working in Vietnam.
According to the Government Newspaper, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh believes that the Minister's visit will promote transport cooperation between Vietnam and France, bring specific results, and contribute to further promoting the new Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established during the official visit to France in October 2024 by General Secretary and President To Lam.
On this occasion, recalling the good impressions during the official visit to France in 2021, the Prime Minister conveyed the greetings and visits of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and the Prime Minister personally to French President Emmanuel Macron; said that the Vietnamese side wanted to soon welcome the French President to visit Vietnam.
The Prime Minister and Minister Philippe Tabarot highly appreciated the good results that the two countries have achieved in the field of transportation in recent times, this is also a field with a long history in the relationship between the two countries with the North-South railway line, some airports... in Vietnam that are still in operation.
Currently, Airbus is the largest supplier of aircraft to Vietnamese airlines; railway cooperation is a traditional field with projects that have been and are being implemented, such as the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway project, which has put the elevated section into operation.
Appreciating France's strength in the field of transportation and the great deal of room for cooperation, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam strongly encourages, always welcomes and requests the French side to promote French businesses to strengthen cooperation and investment in Vietnam in the fields of transportation, especially participating in large infrastructure projects; in which, promoting Airbus cooperation and technology transfer with Vietnamese airlines to open aircraft repair and maintenance facilities (hangars) at airports; cooperate in developing the aviation economy, exploiting aerospace, underground space, and sea space; deploy railway projects, seaports, add large ships, and open more direct transport routes to Vietnam; public-private cooperation in road development...
Along with that, the French side promoted cooperation in human resource training, technology transfer, improving governance capacity, preferential loans... with Vietnam in the transport sector.

For his part, Minister Philippe Tabarot said that French President Macron highly appreciated the relationship with Vietnam; sent his greetings and greetings to the Prime Minister and wished to visit Vietnam soon.
Sharing good impressions of Vietnam, Vietnam's efforts and achievements in innovation and development in recent times, the Minister agreed with the Prime Minister's opinion on the relationship between the two countries and promoting relations in the field of transportation to be more and more effective.
Announcing the results of the work with the Ministry of Construction, the Minister said that during this visit, the French side will chair and coordinate with the Ministry of Construction to organize a Vietnam - France Workshop on high-speed railways.
The Minister emphasized that France has strengths in the field of transportation, affirming that France and French businesses are always ready to cooperate with Vietnam, especially in supporting and cooperating in implementing strategic transport infrastructure projects, as well as cooperating in training human resources, exchanging experiences, learning from each other, having better quality products and services to serve the people, connecting the two countries.
