According to Vinasarcom of Lang Son province, from 7:00 a.m. on June 21 to the morning of June 22, the province experienced moderate to very heavy rain. Some places recorded rainfall exceeding 150 mm, such as Tan Tri and Nhat Tien communes (Bac Son district). In Quyet Thang commune, Tan Lap (Huu Lung district), the rain was measured at 120-144 mm.
Notably, the flood on the Bac Giang River peaked at 10:00 p.m. on June 21 at 19,071 cm, 71 cm above alert level III. On the Trung River, the water level continues to rise slowly and is exceeding alert level II.
The impact of heavy rain left 2 people injured due to tiles falling on their heads; 110 houses had their roofs blown off, fences collapsed or landslides behind them. More than 126 hectares of rice and 105 hectares of crops were flooded, 0.8 hectares of aquaculture were affected. On the roads, 28 locally flooded areas and landslides were recorded, causing traffic obstruction.
Immediately after heavy rain, the authorities implemented the "4 on-site" motto to support people to overcome the damage, ensure traffic safety, and place warning signs at dangerous points.
The Lang Son Provincial Hydrometeorological Station warned that in the next 6 hours, there is a high risk of flash floods and landslides on steep slopes, especially in the districts of Bac Son, Binh Gia, Chi Lang, Huu Lung, Loc Binh, Trang Dinh, Van Lang, Van Quan. People are advised to proactively monitor the weather and move away from dangerous areas to ensure safety.
On the afternoon of June 22, informing reporters, Ms. Phung Thi Thanh Nga - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Son district said that by 4:00 p.m. the same day, the rain had basically stopped and traffic landslides in the area.
"However, there are currently 2 villages in Nhat Tien commune, Bac Son district that are still isolated by floodwaters, and relief forces are being mobilized to support people," the leader informed.
