On March 24, according to Lao Dong's source, Lang Son Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to eliminate mobile broadband villages and hamlets in 2026.
The goal of the project is to help people in areas with weak signals or without signals access essential telecommunications services, creating a foundation for digital transformation and socio-economic development.
According to the plan, the province will review and complete the list of remote villages and hamlets; invest in ground mobile telecommunications infrastructure; and study the use of low-altitude satellite internet in places that meet the conditions for deployment according to regulations.
This is considered a solution to gradually end the prolonged "white wave" situation in some highland and border areas.
The Department of Science and Technology is assigned to preside over advising, monitoring, and supervising the implementation progress.
The Department of Finance coordinates to advise on allocating funds to support communes to use low-altitude satellite Internet while waiting for telecommunications businesses to complete ground infrastructure.
Commune People's Committees coordinate to survey, select locations for station installation, and support construction site.
Telecommunications enterprises are responsible for mobilizing resources and accelerating the installation of BTS stations to cover wave hollow points according to plan.
The removal of wave congestion not only serves the communication needs of people but also expands access to online public services, learning, remote medical examination and treatment, and digital platforms serving production and life.
In the context of digital transformation being promoted to the grassroots level, covering remote villages and hamlets is considered a necessary step to shorten the development gap between mountainous areas and central areas.
According to the Department of Science and Technology of Lang Son province, currently the whole province has 28 villages and hamlets with mobile wave density that need to be handled this year.
The list includes: Khuoi O (Khuat Xa commune); Dong Thoang, Coc Lai, Suoi Vam (Thong Nhat commune); Na Xom, Phai Vai (Loi Bac commune); Khuoi Phu, Dong Sao, Nhat Tien, Cao Minh (Doan Ket commune); Coc Slay, Ban Piòong (Trang Dinh commune); Tham Xi, Binh An (Tan Tri commune); Ban Tan (Hong Phong commune); Hop Thanh (Thien Long commune); Po Khoang (Dinh Lap commune); Khe Bung, Ngan Cha (Kien Moc commune); Hoa Binh, Khe Dam (Thai Binh commune); Khuoi Khin, Ban Slien (Khanh Chien commune); Khuoi Criep (Tan Tien commune); Khun Day (Hoang Van Thu commune); Quang Son (Hoi Hoan commune); Co Chi (Xuan Duong commune); Khuoi Man (Quy Hoa commune).
