On the afternoon of May 11, the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee held the 10th Conference to assess the socio-economic development situation in April 2026 and give opinions on many important submissions and reports under its authority.
According to the report at the conference, in April, the socio-economy of Lao Cai province continued to maintain positive growth momentum. Agricultural production ensured the progress of the spring crop; the total poultry flock increased by 5.3%, and live meat output sold increased by 9.4% compared to the same period last year.
The value of industrial production is estimated to reach nearly 5,980 billion VND, an increase of 2% compared to the previous month. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached about 7,350 billion VND.
Import and export activities through border gates reached more than 304 million USD; accumulated 4 months reached over 1 billion USD, an increase of 41.3% compared to the same period in 2025. Tourism continues to be a bright spot when in April alone, Lao Cai welcomed more than 1 million visitors; accumulated tourism revenue in 4 months reached more than 17,000 billion VND.
State budget revenue continued to record positive results with total revenue in 4 months reaching 7,706 billion VND, equal to 136.9% compared to the same period. Investment attraction was promoted, in the month 6 more projects were granted new investment policies with a total registered capital of more than 1,826 billion VND.
At the conference, many opinions discussed the draft regulations on evaluating and ranking cadres, civil servants, and public employees associated with KPI measurement in the provincial political system.
Along with that are contents related to power control, anti-corruption, negativity in personnel work; regulations on coordination between the Provincial Military Party Committee and the Party Committees of communes and wards in inspection and supervision work...
Concluding the conference, Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Duong Quoc Huy highly appreciated the efforts of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee, advisory and assisting agencies of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Police Party Committee and Provincial Military Party Committee in deploying tasks in April with many outstanding results.
Regarding the draft regulations on evaluating cadres associated with KPI, the Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee agreed with the policy, assigning the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee to fully absorb opinions, carefully review to complete the draft, ensuring compliance with Party regulations and State laws.
