The Minh Quan Industrial Park Concentrated Wastewater Treatment System Project, Yen Bai Province (now Lao Cai Province) was approved by Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee under Decision No. 556/QD-UBND dated July 21, 2025.
This project belongs to Group C, with a total investment of 55 billion VND from the provincial budget, the Lao Cai Provincial Industrial Park Management Board is assigned as the project investor.
According to the reporter's investigation, the Lao Cai Provincial Industrial Park Management Board has recently issued a notice to invite bids for Package No. 12: Construction and equipment installation for the Minh Quan Industrial Park Concentrated Wastewater Treatment System project, Yen Bai province.
The above construction package was widely bid online, priced at nearly 45 billion VND, constructed in Au Lau ward, Lao Cai province (Au Lau ward was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Hop Minh ward and the communes of Gioi Phien, Minh Quan, Au Lau of the former Yen Bai city).
In the coming time, after the results of contractor selection, the construction unit will deploy the construction and installation of a centralized wastewater treatment system with a treatment capacity of 500m3/day and night and other items. The construction area of the Wastewater Treatment Station is 3,064.74m2.
The construction period of package 12 is 540 days.
Southern Industrial Park, old Yen Bai Province
Previously, in early November 2025, Lao Cai province also implemented the selection of contractors for the project to invest in the construction of technical infrastructure for the Southern Industrial Park, Yen Bai province.
According to Decision No. 318/QD-UBND dated July 11, 2025 of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, the above project was adjusted, adding a total investment from 250 billion VND to 285 billion VND.
In the adjusted and additional value this time (increased by 35 billion VND), construction costs increased by more than 22.7 billion VND, equipment costs decreased by more than 1.7 billion VND, project management costs increased by 358 million VND, construction investment consulting costs increased by more than 3.8 billion VND, other costs increased by 371 million VND, contingency costs increased by more than 9.4 billion VND.
As part of the project, Package No. 9: Construction and equipment installation for the project (Class: Construction of a centralized wastewater treatment system in the Southern Industrial Park) - is also being widely bid online, the bid package price is over 71.7 billion VND.
In the coming time, after the results of contractor selection, the construction unit will deploy the construction of a centralized wastewater treatment system in the Southern industrial park in Van Phu ward, Lao Cai province.
The scale includes: Construction of a wastewater treatment system in the Southern industrial park with a treatment flow of 1,200m3/day and night; construction of a wastewater treatment plant with an area of 4,881.03m2.
It can be seen that not long after the merger of provinces, the construction of a centralized wastewater treatment system in industrial parks in the old Yen Bai province has been quickly implemented by the new Lao Cai province.
