On June 8, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province said that the locality has achieved many positive results in implementing administrative procedure reform, contributing to creating favorable conditions for people and businesses and improving the efficiency of state management.
According to a report by the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, so far the whole province has cut and shortened the processing time for 815/2,042 eligible administrative procedures, achieving an average reduction of about 40%, exceeding the minimum requirement of 30% as directed by the Government.
Along with that, the province has cut and abolished 24/35 special administrative procedures, contributing to simplifying the process of resolving work for organizations and individuals.
From July 1, 2025 to date, administrative agencies in the province have received 628,692 administrative procedure dossiers, and resolved 605,715 dossiers.
Of which, 597,545 dossiers were processed correctly and ahead of schedule, reaching a rate of 98.7%.

At commune-level Public Administrative Service Centers, 474,905 dossiers have been received, of which 468,394 dossiers were resolved on time and ahead of schedule, reaching a rate of 98.7%.
Notably, shortening the time to resolve administrative procedures has brought clear efficiency.
Out of a total of 656,246 dossiers received and resolved, more than 423,000 dossiers were processed according to a simplified process, helping to save nearly 90 billion VND in costs for people and businesses.
However, the implementation process still faces some difficulties. Many procedures are complex, requiring actual inspection or taking opinions from many relevant agencies, so it is difficult to continue shortening the processing time.
In addition, the use of common administrative procedure settlement systems of central ministries and sectors also partly limits the ability of localities to proactively adjust processes.
In the coming time, Lao Cai will continue to review and simplify the remaining specific administrative procedures; and at the same time coordinate with central ministries and sectors to research and propose solutions to achieve the goal of reducing 50% of the time and costs of complying with administrative procedures as required by the Government in 2026.
