On the afternoon of May 4, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung chaired the regular Government meeting in April 2026 - the first regular Government meeting of the 16th Government.
According to the program, the meeting focused on discussing: Socio-economic situation in April and the first 4 months of 2026, allocation and disbursement of public investment capital, implementation of national target programs; new points in the Government's Working Regulations...
Requesting delegates to comment on the draft Government Working Regulations, the Prime Minister clearly stated that the spirit of the Regulations is to closely follow and comply with the provisions of the Constitution, the Party's regulations and the State's laws, especially the Law on Organization of the Government, the Working Regulations of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat.
On that basis, strongly innovate the working methods of the Government, in the direction of strengthening effectiveness, efficiency, simplifying procedures and strengthening decentralization, fully institutionalizing the regulations of the Party and the State for the Government in the new development stage, building a modern, constructive Government, serving the people, united, coordinating, accompanying and incorruptible, disciplined, brave, and responsible.

Regarding socio-economic contents, the Prime Minister noted to carefully assess and analyze in more depth the developments of the situation, especially issues related to inflation, import and export, trade deficit, and growth in industries and fields associated with the implementation of specific task groups, especially the implementation of the double-digit growth target.
Ministries, branches, and localities must focus on firmly grasping and carefully assessing the situation, concretizing and implementing the task groups assigned by the Central Government, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the National Assembly.
The Prime Minister requested delegates to focus on reviewing the implementation of policies in the fields of education, health, and culture, ensuring practical contributions to socio-economic development.
Regarding national defense, security and foreign affairs, the Prime Minister noted the complicated developments of the world and regional situation, requesting relevant ministries and sectors to proactively research and develop appropriate response scenarios and plans, and promptly report to competent authorities.
Regarding public investment and national target programs, the Prime Minister requested to have more drastic solutions to accelerate the progress of capital allocation and disbursement, improve efficiency of use, and contribute to promoting growth.
In which, pay attention to urgent tasks such as ensuring clean water for remote and isolated areas, ethnic minority areas and stabilizing residential areas before natural disasters and storms.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the task of continuing to review and promote administrative procedure reform, reducing business conditions, conditional business lines, simplifying processes, creating favorable conditions for people and businesses, improving the investment environment, and promoting production and business.
The Head of Government also requested a comprehensive assessment of the implementation of the Politburo's strategic resolutions, including Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; clarify existing shortcomings and limitations, and accelerate the implementation progress in the coming time.
