Long Thanh airport satellite city
Nhon Trach commune was formed from the merger of 5 administrative units including: Hiep Phuoc town, Long Tan commune, Phu Thanh commune, Phu Hoi commune and Phuoc Thien commune, belonging to Nhon Trach district (formerly).

Nhon Trach is located at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, with a natural border of the Dong Nai River, and is also a direct connection point with Long Thanh International Airport - a national key project. With a modern transport infrastructure system including the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, Ring Road 3, Ton Duc Thang road (25B) and Nguyen Ai Quoc road (25C), Nhon Trach has favorable conditions to develop into a trading, logistics and aviation support service center in the near future.

With a population of 156,798 people, an area of 108.04km2, of which the immigrant labor force accounts for a large proportion, Nhon Trach shows strong attraction in terms of population and labor. The establishment of the ward will create a legal and administrative basis for Nhon Trach to better promote its strategic position advantage, take on the role of an airport satellite city and become an important development driving force of the Southeast region.
Breakthrough development thanks to modern transport infrastructure
Nhon Trach gathers all types of transport such as: expressways, ring roads, airport connections, seaports...

Currently, Nhon Trach is one of the major industrial centers of Dong Nai with 5 industrial parks and 1 industrial cluster operating.
Phuoc An General Port is one of the large-scale deep-water ports in the region that is being deployed synchronously, creating a breakthrough in logistics development. When completed, the port will directly connect with the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster and Long Thanh airport, forming a chain of road - waterway - air transport links.

According to the plan, the entire Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project, Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway and provincial roads 25B, 25C will be completed and put into operation in 2026. Along with that, the Phuoc An Bridge project connecting Ho Chi Minh City will also be completed in 2027.

In January 2026, Cat Lai bridge connecting Nhon Trach (Dong Nai) with Ho Chi Minh City across the Dong Nai River was started. This is an important connecting transport infrastructure project, expected to create a breakthrough in development for the new Nhon Trach city.
Speaking at the project groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Ho Van Ha - Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee said: When Cat Lai bridge is completed, Nhon Trach will be directly and conveniently connected with Ho Chi Minh City, gradually promoting its role as a satellite city, an industrial - service - logistics center associated with Long Thanh airport.
