In July 2025, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to discuss the implementation of the adjustment of the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
According to the Department of Finance of Khanh Hoa province, during the implementation process, the Provincial Planning for this period has encountered some difficulties and inadequacies.
The main reason is the overlap and conflict between the Provincial Planning and national plans, the planning of the North Central and Central Coast regions - which were approved after the Khanh Hoa Provincial Planning was approved.
In addition, the issuance of new resolutions by the Politburo and the Government along with planning projects approved by the Prime Minister also greatly changes the development orientation and land use goals, leading to many allocation targets no longer being suitable.
In particular, after merging the old Khanh Hoa province and the old Ninh Thuan province, many general goals and orientations for industry and field development have been forced to be adjusted to suit the new territorial space.
Therefore, the adjustment of the Provincial Planning is necessary to remove obstacles, update new orientations, and at the same time ensure synchronization in socio-economic development, land use, resources and technical infrastructure.
The Department of Finance said that the adjusted contents will focus on key issues. This includes reviewing and adjusting key tasks and breakthroughs of the province during the planning period; updating scenarios and selecting new development options.
The province will also adjust the allocation of development space between regions, ensuring consistency between technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, land use and environmental protection.
The allocation, exploitation and use of natural resources and historical and cultural relics will also be calculated more reasonably and effectively.
Some key industry development plans will be adjusted such as: agriculture - forestry - fishery, exploitation and protection of mineral resources, water resources, transportation, industry, electricity - energy, industrial parks/clusters, urban and rural system development...
Currently, the leader of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee suggested that the Department of Finance should add more decisions approving the old Ninh Thuan Provincial Planning, as well as the decision to adjust this planning to clarify the urgency of adjusting the Khanh Hoa Provincial Planning.
The provincial leaders also assigned the Department of Finance to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit a document to the Prime Minister, asking for approval to adjust the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
