Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority said that the Rescue Center was established to mobilize many forces to coordinate, expand the scope of rescue and search at sea.
The rescue center includes many coordinating forces, including: Ha Tinh Border Guard, Quang Binh Border Guard, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT-TKCN) of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces, the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region I, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center and ships operating in the area.
The rescue force is deploying many vehicles, expanding the search area in the direction of the flow and wind direction, and at the same time strengthening inter-provincial coordination to promptly respond if signs of missing crew members are detected.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the Cong Thanh 07 ship carrying 4,900 tons of coal from Quang Ninh to Quang Binh sank on the evening of May 25 at a location about 9 nautical miles from Vung Ang port.
At the time of the accident, there were 11 crew members on board, one of whom had been rescued by fishermen, the remaining 10 people were still missing.
