Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung - Director of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway Project Management Board (Thang Long Project Management Board) - said that on May 20, the Board deployed the installation of a traffic island (series) at the intersection between the access road to the expressway and National Highway 8C in Cam Quan commune.
This traffic island is 15m in diameter in the center of the intersection. On the island, there are traffic signs and reflectors, making it easy for drivers to recognize.
Along with installing traffic, at 4 directions moving to the intersection, the investor has also put up signs limiting speed to 40km/h to ensure safety.
According to the plan, the investor will continue to install additional yellow flashing lights to warn vehicles at all 4 directions to this intersection.
According to the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway Project Management Board, after the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway Project was put into operation (from April 28), the unit received feedback and recommendations from people and authorities about potential traffic accidents at the intersection of National Highway 8C with the expressway access road in Cam Quan commune.
Therefore, the unit has coordinated with provincial departments and branches, Cam Xuyen District People's Committee, supervision consulting units, contractors, to check the current situation, and agree on plans to reorganize traffic at this location.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung said that after installing traffic piers, speed limit signs, and safety solutions, the most important thing is that drivers who drive vehicles must strictly follow the signs and speed limitations to ensure safety.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported inadequacies and potential traffic accidents at the intersection between National Highway 8C and the access road to the expressway in Cam Quan commune.

In fact, there have been a number of accidents here, including the accident between a truck and a car that occurred on the afternoon of May 18, causing 4 people in the car to be injured and had to be hospitalized for emergency care.
