On December 6, the Department of Agriculture and Environment said that the interdisciplinary inspection team had taken soil and water samples from the garden of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thoai (Vinh Son village) and the road to Co Island in Tho Son village, where the phenomenon of worms crawling to the ground and dying was recorded. The Sampling is to analyze environmental factors related to the phenomenon of abnormally dead earthworms.
The interdisciplinary inspection team includes representatives of the Department of Environmental Management and experts, the Department of Minerals and Climate Change, the Department of Science and Technology, the 406 Geological Team, the People's Committee of Phu Trach commune and the Center for Agricultural and Environmental Monitoring. The monitoring unit took soil and water samples underground, analyzed the parameters to determine the cause.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the water sample will have results after about 5 days, while the soil sample is expected to be completed for analysis within 10 days.
The Department requested the People's Committee of Phu Trach commune to coordinate with the people to continue monitoring and recording if the phenomenon continues before making an official conclusion.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on December 1, at the foot of Deo Ngang (in Vinh Son village), people discovered earthworm carcasses lying everywhere on concrete paths and people's gardens and extended to the edge of National Highway 1.
