In order to pay pensions and social insurance allowances fully and promptly to beneficiaries, Vietnam Social Security has a schedule for paying pensions and monthly social insurance benefits through specific personal accounts to 34 provinces and cities, in detail as follows:
Regional Social Insurance agencies in 21 provinces and cities have payment schedules on the first working day of the month: Son La, Dien Bien, Lang Son, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho City, Vinh Long, Ca Mau, Kien Giang.
Regional Social Insurance agencies in 13 provinces and cities have payment schedules on the second working day of the month, including: Hanoi, Lai Chau, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Lao Cai, Quang Ngai, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap.
For example, in Hanoi, the pension and social insurance allowance payment schedule is expected from Thursday, October 1, 2026. In Ho Chi Minh City, the pension and social insurance allowance payment schedule is expected from Friday, October 2, 2026.
Other provinces and cities are similar, people will receive pension and social insurance allowance payments according to the above payment schedule.
Payment forms
According to regulations, the forms of pension and social insurance allowance payment are specifically scheduled as follows:
Payment via personal account
Organize monthly pension and social insurance allowance payments through personal accounts at regional social insurance. No later than the 5th of every month, the Department of Planning and Finance transfers money to the beneficiary's personal account.
Payment at the fixed payment point
From October 2, 2026 to October 10, 2026, organize payments for at least 6 hours/day at all payment points;
Only terminate payments before the 10th for points that have paid off the entire number of beneficiaries according to the list transferred by the social insurance agency.
Payment at the transaction point of the Payment Service Organization
From the 11th of the month, pension payments will continue at payment points that are transaction points of payment service organizations until the end of the 25th of the month.
Note that in case the payment date coincides with Saturday, Sunday, or Tet holiday, the payment date is the next working day.
Payment of pensions and social insurance allowances via account on VNeID
Decree No. 320/2026/ND-CP dated August 13, 2026 of the Government amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 69/2024/ND-CP regulating electronic identification and authentication, has added new content related to Social Security Benefit Accounts to the electronic identification system.
Accordingly, from September 28, 2026, when the regulation takes effect, people eligible for support, pensions and social security policies can proactively create social security accounts on VNeID and integrate appropriate accounts to receive money.
According to Vietnam Social Security, this is the first time to regulate the Social Security Benefit Account on the national identification application, and at the same time determine the form of payment of support, pensions and social security benefits through this account.
According to Article 1 of Decree 320/2026/ND-CP, Social security benefit accounts are identified as identification information on VNeID, allowing electronic identity entities to integrate a payment account, electronic wallet or mobile money account to receive money related to social security policies.
The amounts that can be received include: Support money, pensions, social security payments and other legal funds.
Note that this account is not a type of independent bank account, but VNeID plays the role of an identification platform, where people can integrate their payment accounts, e-wallets or mobile money accounts to serve the purpose of receiving money.
