Unlocking resources for national target programs
Immediately after implementing the two-level local government model, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Lien Son Lak commune (Dak Lak province) have focused on implementing the National Target Programs, aiming at sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
The commune has 8 villages and 23 hamlets with more than 6,300 households and more than 26,300 people; ethnic minorities account for more than 73%. The rate of poor households is 18.2%, near-poor households is 16.9%.

By December 2025, the locality is appraising livelihood projects under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction; at the same time, issuing a plan to take care of people's health, improve physical conditions and prevent child malnutrition.
The commune also opened training courses and technical transfer for plant and animal varieties to improve production efficiency.
In recent years, the locality has donated breeding cows to 25 poor and near-poor households in Drung, Cuor, Cuor Tak and Bhok villages with a budget of nearly 656 million VND; at the same time, supported more than 1,200 fruit-growing breeding plants and 1,300 breeding goats worth nearly 200 million VND.

Village elder Y Piok Yang (Cuor Tak village) said: Thanks to the support of breeding cows and seedlings, people work hard and proactively learn animal husbandry techniques. In just two years, many households have improved their economy and gradually escaped difficulties. Just give them a livelihood, people will freely do business to rise up".
The support from the program is not only of material value but also has great spiritual significance, demonstrating the concern of the government. That helps us have more faith in social security policies and feel not left behind" - Mr. Y Yop Trieng (Dong Guol village) shared.

Contributing to promoting sustainable poverty reduction
Lien Son Lak commune currently has 6,663 households with 26,663 people, of which 963 are poor households and 367 are near-poor households. In the last months of 2025, the commune government is urgently implementing poverty reduction tasks, striving to complete the set targets.
The locality aims to fully disburse capital for the National Target Program; at the same time, review and evaluate the results of implementing new rural criteria and develop a plan for 2026.

Mr. Y Tho Mo - Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs of Lien Son Lak commune - said that through activities to support livelihoods, provide essential items, support agricultural production... people have more skills and conditions to create a stable source of income.
Diversifying livelihoods and encouraging models suitable for each region also helps reduce dependence on traditional farming, increase productivity and improve life.

Mr. Y Tho added that the program also invests heavily in essential infrastructure such as transportation, electricity, domestic water, schools, and health stations.
Improved infrastructure helps reduce travel costs, facilitate trade and facilitate people's access to basic services. This is an important factor contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.
