Tighten inspection of school electric vehicles, prevent the situation of "modification

On May 7, Road Traffic Police Team No. 9 (CSGT) - Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police deployed a plan to strengthen traffic safety and order violation control in suburban areas, focusing on students and parents picking up and dropping off their children to school.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Luyen - Team Leader of Road Traffic Police Team No. 9, in addition to common violations such as not wearing helmets or driving vehicles when not old enough, functional forces are strengthening mobile patrols to detect and handle the situation of "modifying" electric motorbikes.

The traffic police force said that electric vehicles are currently used by many students because they are convenient and easy to control. However, recently, there has been a situation of intervention in vehicle structure to increase operating speed such as replacing ICs, upgrading batteries, replacing frame or tires that are not suitable, posing a risk of fire and explosion and traffic accidents.

On May 6, Market Management Team No. 1 - Hanoi Market Management Sub-Department conducted a surprise inspection of TTFAIR Vietnam Trading and Production Joint Stock Company in Thanh Oai Industrial Cluster. Here, functional forces discovered that the enterprise was installing an engine control unit for MDHY 60V electric motorbikes on an electric power bike "VC BIKE".

According to functional agencies, the change of the controller allows electric power-assisted bicycles to reach a maximum speed of up to 49km/h, far exceeding the usual technical characteristics of this vehicle line.

Functional forces have temporarily seized 91 electric power bikes that have been assembled and 82 controllers for electric motorbikes that are preparing to be put into the assembly line for further verification and handling according to regulations.

In addition to signs of violations related to vehicles, Market Management Team No. 1 also prepared dossiers to handle businesses for a series of violations in e-commerce activities on the website "xedienttfair. com" such as insufficient disclosure of goods information, website owner information, failure to display personal data protection policies, failure to have policies to ensure consumer information security and using "first" words when there are no legal documents.
